A resident of the Lower Ninth Ward for 45 years, Ms. Leblanc who was one of the few able to get a FEMA trailer on Tennessee St has been trying to get the city to mow the grass without any luck. Next week will be two years since Hurricane Katrina breached the levees. Since the City of New Orleans will only fine property owners but not do anything to reduce the health risks to returning residence, New Orleans Voices For Peace will bring a John Deere tractor and volunteers to start cutting the grass. Stay tuned.... If you would like to help we will meet Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 am and begin clearing lots and cutting down the weeds starting at Tennessee and N. Galvez St. If you would like to help bring your lawn mowers and weed eaters and we will get started. Hopefully we will be able to make this a ongoing project.

It has been my experience that veterans who have PTSD do better when they have a dog. I shur do. and these puppies are looking for a new home. If your a veteran and need someone to love and love you back without condition, contact me.

Mona you may remember was resqued from the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans in October 2005. She has had 10 more puppies last week. 6 have passes on due to premature birth. I was able to save 4. Here thay are nursing. I want them to go to PTSD veteran members of GSFP, IVAW or VFP if possible. They should be ready to travel by August 6th hmmm. Maybe they can be watch dogs for Camp Casey 3 memorial???

Students from 24 colleges came to New Orleans for a week of volunteer.

City housing in New Orleans has been closed since hurricane Katrina. Residence with legal lease have not been allowed to return.

Iraq Veterans Against War and The Arabi Wrecking Krewe muck and gut the home of Ronald Snow. Ronald is a guitar and bass player for several Jazz bands in New Orlans. He repaired guitars and had a great collections before Katrina destroyed everything.
