Josette Bushell-Mingo is Artistic Director at the Silent Theatre, Riksteatern, Sweden. In 2007 OBE recognised her achievements in acting (highlights: Death in Everyman for the RSC, and creating the role of Rafiki in The Lion King) and the arts (she founded PUSH, the black- led festival at the Young Vic). In 2007 she also directed Margaret Atwoods The Penelopiad at the Swan Theatre, Stratford, UK.
