Happy Rhodes at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia, PA on May 9, 1996, the 2nd of two shows that evening. Kevin Bartlett on electric guitar, loops and sound effects, Carl Adami on bass, Happy Rhodes on vocals and acoustic guitar. No Kelly this time, unfortunately, but it is interesting to hear versions by the threesome. Btw, this IS the color corrected version. The original is so red it makes it look like she's from Mars.
My husband sends apologies for the camera shakiness. It gets better. Sadly, the first song of the show ("Words...") is missing because he was having technical difficulties. That's me that he keeps trying to get in the shot. In one of those really cool fan moments, she bows to me after "Here Comes The Flood" because I must have been grinning like a loonball. I also asked her if "Untitled" was going to be on the next album (it was, as the title track, Many Worlds Are Born Tonight).
Many of these songs are already up on YouTube, at either k8fan or xenussister's accounts (my husband and myself) but I thought it would be nice for people to see the whole thing. I love all the closeups Chris was able to get. No, I'm not obsessive and creepy, honest, I'm just smitten and enthralled. Still, after 21 years. That will never change.

I love this show. I loved both of these shows (there are lots of cuts from the first show up on YouTube, such as the "rare" version of "Jork" and her hilarious original Calvin Klein ad, which she references in this one) but I chose to put the 2nd show up because she does those kickass killer versions of "Space Oddity" and "Come Undone" in this one. Plus her until-now unseen obsession with the kid with the baseball (you'll see what I mean).
Kevin Bartlett on guitar, Carl Adami on bass, and Kelly Bird on backing vocals.
I left it dark at the beginning so you could hear the reaction of the band coming on stage prior to Happy.
=========================================
Set list (+ Songs not performed at the 1st show):
Look For The Child, Collective Heart, Save Our Souls,
Down Down, The Issue Is, How It Should Be, Phobos,
Space Oddity (David Bowie cover), Summer, "Jork", Lay Me Down, Come Undone (Duran Duran cover)+, All Things. Encore: Soon (Yes cover), Tragic+, Possessed
This is a higher quality version than the one that's been on YouTube for a couple of years (uploaded by my husband k8fan). I'm also uploading it to my YouTube account (xenussister). The end doesn't cut off either, yay!
