GryN opened for Crystal Roxx on November 25, 2009 @ Club 1402 (Thanksgiving Eve). This is the biggest night to go out in most places in America, including Reading, Pa. There were approximately 1,300 people that walked through the door on this night. Luckily for us, Chio from RedCityPa.com was at the show shooting footage to be used for this video.
This song, "Bartender" written by Rehab, is a crowd and employee favorite at Club 1402, so it's dedicated completely to the crowd that has shown GryN much love and support. We urge you to check out the music of Rehab, they are definitely worth a listen. And if you are a Rehab fan, well, we hope you enjoy this version of a bar room classic. Special thanx to Chio, Zowie, Mike, Pete, Jeremy, Crystal Roxx, Passion at Gun Point and everyone in attendance on such a big night for both GryN and Crystal Roxx at the best Sports Club in Berks County. We hope that if you are in the area you will come check out GryN, the schedule is posted at www.myspace.com/GryNpa.

GryN opened for Crystal Roxx on Thanksgiving Eve (November 25, 2009)
at Club 1402 in Reading, Pa to a packed house! Club 1402 throws the BEST Thanksgiving Eve Party every year, and we were very proud and honored to be a part of this one. If you were in attendance, you know it was an ass kicking night for everyone.
GryN rounded out their set with a live version of a Jimi Hendrix classic, “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)” and dedicated it to their new friends in Crystal Roxx. We only had one camera on hand during the event, so we decided to keep it real and show you 1 angle, straight on, no cut-aways, no smoke and mirrors… just a good old instrumental beat down of a song that GryN loves to play in their live set. In no way do we imagine to be close to the originator of this song and his band’s renditions of it both studio and live. But maybe Mr. Hendrix would be happy to know that his music and memory are still carrying on today, many years after his untimely demise.
Special thanks to Pete, Mike, Jeremy, and the entire Club 1402 staff for ALL of your support, patience and love that you show to GryN. We urge all viewers of this video to check out our catalog of videos in our arsenal, there are a bunch of fun Club 1402 videos up there, and many more on the way. Leave some feedback please!!!
In this video, GryN closes the show on November 14, 2009 with one of their original tunes dedicated to the crowds that participate in our shows, and people in search of deeper meaning through the eyes of others. We had a lot of fun on this night, despite the fact that most of Berks County has yet to hear about GryN. The people in attendance stayed all night, regardless of what else was going on in town. Berks has a tendency to be completely redundant, and GryN is doing everything in their power to break molds, knock doors down and show people that music doesn’t have to be negative to kick ass.
Special thanx to all who attended, Pete & Mike, DJ Valid and the entire 1402 staff and security for all of your support and motivation. We look forward to storming the castle with our friends in Crystal Roxx and Passion at Gunpoint on Thanksgiving Eve 2009! BE THERE!!!! And leave some feedback, wouldya?!
“Sunshine” is an original GryN song. This performance was recorded live @ Club 1402 in Reading, Pa on November 14, 2009 w/ Fern Ave Ent. and RedCityPa.com combining their resources to bring the people of this city quality live entertainment at the show, and to view afterwards.
Spread the word, let’s get people out the door to try something new. How’s about smiling for a change?

GryN is an original act, but has to answer to the almighty cover collectors in the live show format from time to time. So, we choose to play songs that had a relevance to our own music style and swagger.
"Ziggy Stardust" has been a part of our show on many occasions. David Bowie was a very creative and important impacting song writer and artist, and we are very honored to play any of his music at a live show. Although this video is not the best version ever played ever, it was a lot of fun to play on this particular night. Please leave us some feedback ; D
This video was recorded during sound check. We felt like doing something different and posting a video while we were still in the process of setting up the show. The crowd was still walking in, but those who were there didn't seem to mind us making noise.
"40 Oz's to Freedom" is a Sublime song from the album titled with the same name. This song is one of those that Keith could never get quite out of his head. Although GryN has never played it live before this sound check or together at all, it came out of thin air in the spirit of the moment. But most importantly, it was fun to jam with a 20 foot tall dancing lady. Please leave some feedback, and check out GryN today @: www.myspace.com/GryNpa
GryN performed in 49 degree bliss on the patio at Club 1402 in Reading, Pa, on October 1, 2009. People that were there to stay in doors and see the DJ made their way out to the patio at some point during the evening to check out GryN. Some people stayed out for 30 minute increments. C-Money wore a t-shirt, lol.
GryN loves to experiment live with certain songs, not necessarily straying too far from the song’s original format, but making it GryN’s version. GryN has enjoyed the freedom of being an original band, but still has to pay the cover man dues at live shows. However, all 3 members of the band are huge Jimi Hendrix fans, and like to pay homage to the fallen guitar hero by keeping his music going in the live and unpredictable. Despite cold
GryN performed live in the chilly fall evening of October 1, 2009 at Club 1402 in Reading, Pa. This show was the final patio performance in a summer long series. You will notice, the crowd hat no problem sticking around outside. GryN had plenty of whiskey to help them through the tough moments, like frozen neck, cold strings, and cracked hands. Here is a tribute to the bartenders and employees the most important night club in the city of Reading.
However we do play songs that are not ours during the show. We love the music Rehab has created over the years, and like to present our own version of their music live from time to time. At most of the places GryN has played, it seems the crowd and bar employees often request this song. In the case of this night, it was requested so much it got played twice. this is our second time through it, at 49 degrees on the patio. Enjoy and leave some feedback !!!
October 1, 2009... the first chilly night of the year in the city of Reading, Pa, GryN played the patio for the final show in the summer patio series @ Club 1402. GryN is the FIRST Original band to play Club 1402, despite the nature of this particular video being a cover song. Keep in mind; it was between 47-51 degrees at the time this video footage was captured, so there were some brave souls out there who couldn't miss this show!
"Bad Fish" is a song that has been a part of the GryN live arsenal during the first year's shows. If you read previous video descriptions, you'll find more information why this song is one of our favorites. We in no way believe that we are Sublime, but have the utmost respect for the 3 members of the band and their friends and family. We just hope you can enjoy the song being played back for you by GryN with a smile.
On September 17, 2009, GryN played the patio @ Club 1402. In this video, GryN segued into "Deprogram Me" from an appropriate song by Pink Floyd, "Pigs on the Wing Pt. 1" If you are a Floyd fan, and you know our song "Deprogram Me" you will find that they are shot out of the same cannon in a way.
We hope you enjoy our videos; check us out on Myspace today @ www.myspace.com/GryNpa

On September 17, 2009, GryN played on the patio @ Club 1402 in Reading, Pa. This version of “1914” is a drastic departure from the typical live show version GryN has played before. (Check our previous videos)
This version is more of the “lounge” version, but the lyrics still get the point across.
Please leave some feedback! Special thanx to Pete @ 1402, The Fern Ave Camera Crew - C-Money & Deep Sea, A-Train, Zowie, DJ Maxx and DJ Majik.

On September 17, 2009, GryN played on the patio @ Club 1402 in Reading, Pa. 1402 has become the band's favorite hangout in Reading, due to its party feeling atmosphere when it's time to let loose. While GryN was in the middle of the second set, they decided to try something different in the moment. "Stay Calm" came at the end of a drum solo, which brought a crowd of people closer to the band. In the middle of the track, Keith decided to start free styling, as if he was offering the mic to the emcees that were surrounding the band. It didn't take long for the first emcee to come up and swing for the fences.
The microphone continued to be passed around to 6 different emcees, and what happened was the video you are currently watching. I think it's important to note that none of the emcees in the circle actually knew each other prior to this jam. They might have seen or heard of the other guys before, but what you are watching is a group of people with one common goal, and that is to make great music on the spot. Modern day emcees can be compared to blues guitar players when it's done right. All of the emcees in the circle on this night were fantastic, and it was an honor for all of us to share that moment with one another.
THIS VIDEO IS PROOF THAT READING PA is FULL of TALENT! Please leave some feedback! Special thanx to Pete @ 1402, The Fern Ave Camera Crew - C-Money & Deep Sea, A-Train, Zowie, A-Bomb, G, Midge, Showtime and ALL of the artists that stepped up to the plate and swung for home runs. This video was taken on the night that GryN debuted on Club 1402's main stage in Reading, Pa, on September 5, 2009. This evening also featured a wet t-shirt contest emceed by DJ Maxx. So, we decided to share some of the fun that went on Labor Day @ 1402. GryN will be making many appearances at Club 1402, so Reading area people looking for something new should come on out and see why everyone is smiling.
GryN is NOT a cover band. In fact, they are the first "original" act to play the main stage in any recent recollection. However, when you are a fairly new band, the crowd will request songs. We do our best to please our crowd, so we decided to play this Sublime song. "Santeria" was written by the band Sublime (Nowell, Wilson, Gaugh) and released July 30, 1996 on MCA records. According to Wikipedia, "The song evolved out of a short instrumental on Robbin' the Hood called "Lincoln Highway Dub," which contained the song's eventual bass line and a pre-rhythm guitar riff." It is possibly one of the songs most recognizably synonymous with the band Sublime. Unfortunately, Bradley Nowell had passed away prior to the songs success. GryN holds nothing but the utmost respect for the members of the band Sublime, their families, and the artists they associate with. and hopes that you will enjoy this as an homage to the importance of your music on an entire generation.

""Whiskey in the Jar" is one of those songs I can remember banging my head to when I was a kid. Then, I heard a traditional Irish folk band do the song, and it brought me to tears. I have always felt like this was a fun story with a strong history worth being re-told to new crowds. It is nothing short of an honor to be a band that has taken on this song into our set list. We have great respect for all who have played it before and all who will play it after us." – Keith GryN
Wikipedia says: "Whiskey in the Jar" is a famous Irish traditional song, usually set in the Cork and Kerry mountains, about a highwayman who is betrayed by his wife or lover. One of the most widely performed traditional Irish songs, it has been recorded by professional artists since the 1950s, but was first given wide exposure by the Irish folk band The Dubliners who performed it internationally as a signature song, and recorded it on three albums in the 1960s. Building on the success of the Dubliners, the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy hit the Irish and British pop charts with the song in the early 1970s, and the American heavy metal band Metallica brought it to a wider rock audience in 1998. - Wikipedia 2009

GryN played the downstairs stage @ Crocodile Rocks in Allentown on August 22, 2009. GryN was given a half hour to play at a constantly changing time slot, and eventually got up and exploded. This version of “Stay Calm” is an example of the high energy show GryN is capable of.

This video was from the end of the debut show GryN played on the patio @ Club 1402 in Reading, Pa. Although we have the whole song on video, we had to chose to drop some of the footage for file size upload constraints. However, this part of the song was a completely random jam that in retrospect we felt was worth sharing with the interwebs, ha ha. GryN had to keep the volume down on a patio, not an easy thing to do with a song like Voodoo Chile. That was actually what made this jam so unique.

This video was from our debut show @ Club 1402 in Reading, Pa on August 1, 2009. Matt displays his drumming skills to a new crowd, complete with some of our familiar GryNing faces. We had a great time.
Come check out GryN on September 5, 2009, on Club 1402's main stage w/ DJ L-Beatz & DJ Maxx da Money on the patio!
