Necrosis es una de las principales bandas del thrash metal chileno de mediados de los 80's hasta mediados de los 90's, en una llamada "escena thrasher" caracterizada por la rebelión contra la dictadura y la sociedad organizada. Necrosis junto a bandas como Pentagram, Dorso, Torturer, Warpath, Massakre y Rust entre otras, ayudaron a la masificación del thrash metal chileno.
