The CD Muzical Madness; was an early 1990s collaboration between the legendary Dr. Dre and the world-renowned musician Jimmy Z. The music video for 'Funky Flute' includes Dr. Dre., Jimmy Z and a cameo by the late, great Easy E.
(excerpt from live show) The harmonica is all Jimmy Z. He says, "An interesting thing about this solo is it's in a minor key but I thought I got cut short before I could dig in...oh well."
Live at Harvelles Blues Club in Santa Monica, CA, Jimmy Z's harmonica playing brings down the house (excerpt). Recorded Feb 14, 2004. "Gettin' It" is from the CD "Caught Inside."
Jimmy Z says, "Our set was at 9:30 in the morning and we followed two short acoustic sets by Sting and George Michael, so the crowd was ready for a full electric band. I'd been on a pub-crawl terror for two weeks in London so I was feeling a little wobbly but the adrenaline rush of playing to 100,000 crazed fans seemed to help my aches and pains. I thought at one moment during the harp solo I was going on a bit too long but then I said to myself, " ...oh what the hell ...one more!"
