Sven Väths empire stroke back this July, when the techno overlord returned to Cocoon London at matter, bringing a crack squadron of the extended Cocoon familys very best talent for another night (and morning...) of non-stop pyrotechno. With the April debut selling out well in advance, the scene was set for a night that truly earned the tag Epic Sven was joined by Chris Tietjen, Extrawelt live, Dorian Paic and Jamie Jones (ably deputising for the sadly absent Onur Özer), with the staggering all-pervading atmosphere remaining undimmed at 8am, when the afterparty kicked off on matters 2nd floor with the dancefloor full until well into Sunday afternoon. Engaging Room 1 with another of his extended sets, Sven was all set to turn matter into his own personal playground once more, delivering big-room smashers with the odd surprise dropped in. Joining him was Reboot, who took to the stage this time around, bringing his arresting live show following Extrawelts live performance in April. Under his Reboot guise, Frank Heinrich has contributed house-inflected deep mimimal techno to labels including Cocoon, Cadenza and Moon Harbour with his original compositions and remixes of Guy Gerber and Matthias Tanzmann. The Frankfurt producers live sets build steadily with delicate percussive grooves and elegantly constructed beats, a perfect companion to the swelling atmosphere of any Cocoon night. Room 2 was in the capable hands of Onur Özer, who finally arrived at matter following the late cancellation of his appearance in April due to visa issues. The more intimate surrounding of matters second room will reverberate to the elementally funky rolling beats of the Turkish tyro, whos elevated the minimal and tech house styles by infusing it with the warmer sounds of the Istanbul scene he helped invigorate, involving himself in the founding of several new club venues in the city since the turn of the century. Completing the bill were Cocoons Frank Lorber a veteran of their parties in Frankfurt and Ibiza and Christian C-Rock Rindermann, the multi-monikered founder of Stir15 Recordings and Lo-Fi Stereo who runs the Going Deeper night at Cocoon Club in Frankfurt.

The story of Sven Väth, Cocoon and especially Ibiza has been told in so many ways and so many times over the last few years, with interviews, press releases, party reviews, bulletin boards and much more which does not actually leave much room for additions. Cocoon Ibiza is, and remains, one of the cornerstones of the Ibizan party universe that is calling out for the island's invasion every summer. The fact that we are now approaching our tenth year was not something that anybody would honestly have imagined after the first very hard years. So the tenth year is a year for us to say thank you! This year, the uncompromising musical path that Cocoon has stood for over the last ten years will be, of course, continued and even refined. With Reboot from Offenbach, Federico Molinari from the Frankfurt-based label "Oslo", Livio & Roby from Romania, British Tech House superstar Radio Slave, German shooting star Nick Curly plus the French Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and the Chilean Jose Luis Ordenes a.k.a Umho, we are happy to welcome several exemplary new acts that stand for the current development of House and Techno. Among these newcomers, the live set of Joris Voorn represents a very special highlight. Cocoon head Sven Väth is hosting the Cocoon night – believe it or not – 13 times this year and many of our residents from past years will be behind the decks again. Loco Dice is to play five times, one with his long-time production partner Martin Buttrich; Richie Hawtin is our guest three times and will be hosting a special Minus night with Magda, Barem and Gaiser Live. Marco Carola can't be left out of course and will be playing twice. Ricardo Villalobos plays the decisive role on the Amnesia terrace with seven performances of his unique magical sound – among others, he has booked Chicago House legend DJ Sneak. Besides the well-known Cocoon and CocoonClub artists André Galluzzi, C-Rock, Chris Tietjen, Frank Lorber, Karotte and Tobi Neumann, we welcome Markus Fix and Cassy, two new entrants to Cocoon Booking, and with Dorian Paic, Dubfire, Josh Wink, Luciano, Matthias Kaden, Onur Özer, Raresh, Tiefschwarz, Vera and Zip, all the friends of Cocoon are on the White Island again – not to miss our two Ibiza residents Arian and MarT from Amnesia. So, the craziness continues and we are celebrating together our tenth year on the mystic sun island – a very special year and a magic doubling of jubilees! While Cocoon Ibiza revels in its 10th birthday, the CocoonClub Frankfurt is entering its 5th year! After the long, hard and grey winter, we are now looking forward to an outstanding summer: 10 Years of Cocoon Ibiza – the party continues!

London, April 18th, 2009 - Sven Väth's techno mothership arrived at SE10 on Saturday 18th April, when he welcomed special guests to join him at the controls for the debut of Cocoon at matter - the first of a series of parties at the venue in 2009. With the 'Godfather of Techno' playing an extended set, he welcomed Extrawelt, Chris Tietjen, Dorian Paic and Jamie Jones (backing up for Onur Özer) as guests for the inaugural event.
