"La Loba Parda" (The Brindled She-Wolf) is a traditional shepherds' ballad from Spain. Many versions of this oral-tradition song survive in the west, north and center of the country because these areas are communicated by the "cañadas" (migratory shepherds' ways). Juanma Sanchez plays a "rabel" (rebec), which is a traditional shepherd's bowed instrument made with wood, lamb skin and gut for the strings.
Video recorded at S. Antonio Convent in La Cabrera (Madrid) by Victoriano Jiménez.
