Yes! It's definitely possible to modify the MC-505...This is just a quick (and shitty) run-through before I post the how-to tutorial over at trebledeathsystem.com
For those who are curious, the MIDI, effects, sequencer, and D-Beam controller are completely unaffected. Furthermore, absolutely no post audio effects were added...all sounds are coming from the 505.
