EVALINE...is hard at work - postpartum modesty

this music video project was produced and directed by brett gardali (a close friend of the band) as well as co-produced by evaline member steven pedersen. we finished the actual video before the summer of 06, but it has been sitting on the shelf until we were able to raise enough money for the film treatment we wanted for it. the concept of the video was manifested at the end of a spliff. all of the "actors" and crew are the band members and a few friends here and there. it was an extremely fun project, which shines through with the overall vibe, and slapstick style of the video. it was also a very tedious process, because of the utilization of stop motion. stop-motion is an animation techinique (not restricted to cartoons or clay) where objects are altered slightly, while photographs are taken one at a time and then sequencing the photos together to create the motion effect. the more photos within a smaller range of movement, the more frames per second you have; and vice versa. the possibilities are pretty much endless. so what that means to us is... delicious eye-candy (or delicious intense tea-parties). the video, which was made on a budget of a couple hundred dollars, is a childsplay-like adventure of goodguys vs. badguys set in midevil times. it consists of ridiculous acting, eye-candy, even more ridiculous costumes and props, a beautiful sorceress, lots of mead drinking, and some pretty rad sets. this was a fun one for us, and we are brainstorming to make some more in the future (probably something quite a bit different). we hope you enjoy this video for what it is and we encourage others to explore the world of stop-motion and also, to spread the word of evaline!
