On our vacation to Northern California (from down below in Southern California) we stopped by near the bays and beaches along the mid-coast. We came across a crowd gathered at the beach and decided to check it out. There was a blockade set and a local ecologist was explaining the migration and mating season for the California Sea Lions. It was pretty neat because it was sort of like a zoo except knowing these animals are free to leave at the end of the day and exposed to many dangers and have to get their own food. They're so large in person and actually pretty slow but still enjoyable.
Hope you enjoy the video, The videos and pictures were taken on my Olympus digital camera in 2007 (it used a digital zoom so that's why some of the pictures aren't the best quality).

The year was 2007, Technology hadn't advanced and these two gals found themselves riding the backs of plastic horses with springs connected to them!
