Thomas became involved with the WFD after seeing it online and received his first drumometer in the summer of 2006. Tom was also given the opportunity to compete in the World's Fastest Drummer competition in the summer of 2007 in Austin, Texas. Thomas successfully set a record of 1194 single strokes in 1 minute during the preliminary runs, making him the new 16-and-under record holder and the 3rd fastest drummer in the world in all age categories.
