Being amongst so many filmmakers at the Berlin Talent Campus, I thought I'd asked a few why they made films. Charles Officer's reply was so eloquent I decided to make it the basis for the super8 that I had shot whilst biking round the city. My mate Gareth Scales joined me for the ride and collaborated on the edit. This is the first of two collaborations I've made with the Mr Scales, which has been great fun! Enjoy.

A little memento of a great week at the Berlin Talent Campus shared with some great people. Great work by Gareth Scales in the edit and by those filmmakers behind the frame!

Earth to Earth was my first straight8 film. Straight8 is a competition that gives you one cartridge of super8... and thats it. You shoot the film in a series of single take shots, submit it with a soundtrack on CD and hope the two match up! Hardcore filmmaking people!
This film is a straight8 - that means it was shot on one super8 cartridge in a series of one-off takes - no editting! You submit a soundtrack separately and hope it syncs up - a serious filmmaking challenge - Rock! The film was selected for screening at Raindance Film Festival and Rushes Soho Shorts
