VCI is pleased to present this family/adventure classic, based on the characters created by Robert Lewis Stevenson, in a brand new DVD -- the likes of which have probably not been seen since its initial theatrical release! The film has been faithfully restored to its full widescreen CinemaScope glory with beautifully rich color and detail! The very entertaining soundtrack has likewise been restored from a rare original 4-track recording and remixed to Dolby Digital 5.1. Robert Newton repeats his Treasure Island role as Long John Silver. The ruthless pirate “El Toro” Mendoza has kidnapped the Governor’s beautiful young daughter and captured Jim Hawkins along with her. Around Jim’s neck hangs a medallion that will help Long John find more of legendary Captain Flint’s buried gold, still waiting to be discovered on Treasure Island.
This is the movie that inspired "Saving Private Ryan." It's the true story of five brothers who fought and died together when their ship, the American cruiser Juneau, was sunk in the South Pacific during World War II. The Fighting Sullivans is something more than a worthy tribute to a pair of small town parents and the five sons they lost when the Juneau blew up in a battle off Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942. It is a heartwarming slice of Americana that will fill in the background of any number of Americans on the fighting front. The audience's awareness of the news in store for the Sullivan family adds considerably to the film's effect. The Fighting Sullivans generates emotion strictly on it's own terms and without bidding for tears. This Commemorative Edition marks the 63rd anniversary of the sinking of the Juneau.

Mrs. Newless had sold her soul to the Devil in order to live again after being burned at the stake and the whole town is part of her coven, including the student's history professor (Christopher Lee).

The Pistol is the true story of 'Pistol' Pete Maravich (Adam Guier), a skinny five-foot-two, 90 pound eight-grader who played basketball with the innocence of a child and a determination of a champion.
