The sound was not recorded so in this i lost a lot of reaction, sound effects, etc, but i synced it =] it's the same music i used for the final.
and sorry, harry was sitting right in front of the laptop hahaha but it's not his fault.
Our final was to create a piece that incorporated the five modules we've been studying this quarter: walking, running, standing, jumping, and rolling.
Below is what I read to the audience prior to starting:
____________
I've put together a piece about endurance of the mind and how it affects the body based on structured chance, circumstance, and consequence. At the same time, I'm doing my actual final which is to explore the different movement vocabularies in combination with each other. To specify and not plagiarize, my final piece consists of original movement motifs compiled by me, it is also a recreation and incorporation of Yoko Ono's 'Cut Piece,' and I thank Bryan Z for agreeing to collaborate with me on this as being a mediator during the performance.
So let me now describe a combination of what may or may not and is going to happen:
Because you all know how self-conscious I am about my appearance, I have here three pairs of scissors which are meant for you all to use to cut off my clothing and get my bottoms down to my underwear and my top down to at least my wife-beater. Bryan will tell me to stop my movement which will give you the signal to begin cutting during the time that he counts. If in the case that by the time Bryan finishes counting, no one has cut off parts of or entire articles of clothing, or that whoever is cutting is not finished cutting, there will be a consequence on my part which is information I must withhold from you all. There will be four times that Bryan tells me to stop - meaning that you all only have four chances to get me down to my minimal clothing. And if by the end of the fourth time I am not down to my minimal clothing, I have asked Dan to give me an 'F' for this assignment. My piece lasts for as long the song goes which is 4min and 25sec. We will begin now.
