this is an excerpt from the comedy lab i did for channel 4 a couple years ago. it was quite well received and everyone liked it except the people who make decisions about what goes to series. ive heard through the grape vine that television people in england are wary about giving series to people who arent british. i dont agree with that and any one who has seen justin lee collins tear a room apart will testify that he got to where he is based on talent alone. (i feel bad saying that as justin really is a nice guy) in the perfect world i could say it about russel brand but he actually does do well at stand up but the few times ive met him he's been a dick.
