This film was made as an entry to the Brisbane International Fast Film Festival. This was my first film, so being the control freak that I am, I thought it would be good to try and do everything on my own. This was extremely challenging, but also very rewarding. I found that it helped me decide which parts of filmaking that I enjoyed, and which parts I wasn't so fond of. I found the pre production the hardest job (organising all the actors/props/etc etc to be at the same place at the same time on the day of the shoot)...and now I never want to be a producer! So anyway, over the course of a month, I developed the concept and story, found the actors, scouted the locations, filmed the thing, cut the thing together, wrote the score, and bob's your uncle I had a film. It was all very fun! I found it really interesting how throughout the whole process, the story somewhat shifted a bit. It started off in my head as a really nice little story, and then when I finished it, I realised that it had somehow changed into a slightly darker story. Anyways, it was a learning experience!
I made this commercial as part of a competition that Triple J were running. The brief: 'Creat a visual representation of triple J'. After pondering for some time, I decided use an animation syle that I'd wanted to play around with for a while (mixing 2D elements in a 3D landscape). Finally, I finished it all off with the end line (which I personally think sums up Triple J pretty damn well!) By the way, if you're wondering what that awesome music is in the background, it's a song called 'Revolutionary' by Violent Soho. Enjoy!
This film was made as part of the '48 Hour Film Project'. This is a festival that travels the world giving teams the opportunity to make a 5 minute film in 48 hours. All teams had to include a green toothbrush, the character 'Crazy Bob - Child Entertainer', and the line of dialogue 'I don't know where it came from'. Each team also randomly drew the genre of their film. We drew 'Film de Femme'. Overall, it was great fun and really good experience but still very challenging (I only got 2 hours sleep in the 48). Good times, good times!
This was a film clip that I worked on for Violent Soho. If you haven't seen Violent Soho, go and see them now. hahaha.
No I'm fucking serious. Get outta here.
A film clip I made for a competition that Silverchair were running. Using selected footage from the Silverchair shoot, you had to recut a video for them.
