After several years of development and scattered filming and post-production, it's with great pleasure that Cinema Nouveau presents the first movement of writer-director Brian Skutle's first short film project, "Unwinnable Hand: A Thriller in Two Movements." It's been a long road, and there's still a way to go in finishing the second movement, but Brian hopes you'll agree that this is a pretty good way to start things off.

This scene will not be featured in "Unwinnable Hand" when it eventually is seen. One look at it should tell why. It's still pretty fun.

Now, with more space than before to do some work, Cinema Nouveau is back with some fun behind-the-scenes of their upcoming short film, "Unwinnable Hand" ("Movement I" should be online by the end of 2007). What we've put together here is a collection of some of the best bloopers we've had happen during filming. It's a long montage, but pretty enjoyable. We hope you enjoy it too, and there's more to come.

After the first day of shooting, Brian thought he would have a little bit of fun with the idea of online video diaries put forth by people like Peter Jackson and Bryan Singer. One gets the feeling he had a little too much fun...

It's taken about 18 months filled with rewrites and six shooting days, but now you can finally watch the first trailer for Brian's short film "Unwinnable Hand: A Thriller in Two Movements," with music exclusively written for the trailer- cut together from footage of "Movement I"- by Brian himself. Hope you enjoy!
