24 minute behind the scenes look at the filming of Sharkwater.
For filmmaker Rob Stewart, exploring sharks began as an underwater adventure. What it turned into was a beautiful and dangerous life journey into the balance of life on earth.
Driven by passion fed from a lifelong fascination with sharks, Stewart debunks historical stereotypes and media depictions of sharks as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters and reveals the reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas.

In an effort to protect sharks, Stewart teams up with renegade conservationist Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Their unbelievable adventure together starts with a battle between the Sea Shepherd and shark poachers in Guatemala, resulting in pirate boat rammings, gunboat chases, mafia espionage, corrupt court systems and attempted murder charges, forcing them to flee for their lives.
Through it all, Stewart discovers these magnificent creatures have gone from predator to prey, and how despite surviving the earth's history of mass extinctions, they could easily be wiped out within a few years due to human greed.

You should try to get this movie to show in Montana. I would love to see it. Thanks for even more inspiration to study sharks in the future. Keep up the good work

Hey Hunter-
I read that book you just quoted.. you need to give props to Steve Alton if you are going to use something out of the third book in his fictional "Meg" series..
when people go feeding sharks they start gettting drawn to the sound of an engine which increses shark attacks on spearfishers or free divers because they come around expecting food. so leave them alone and dont go feeding them.
I dont even believe that I could put into words how amazing that documentary is. I'm a teenage scuba diver, and my favorite thing about diving is seeing sharks. Thank you so much for being their protector. come on people, SAVE THE OCEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY SON REALLY LIKES SHARK'S,AND ALSO THINKS THAT YOU ARE DOING AN AWESOME JOB BY TRYING TO SAVE THEM, HE IS ONLY 7YRS OLD. HE REALLY DOES NOT LIKE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE OUT THERE KILLING THEM.IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO LET US KNOW.KEEP UP THE WORK.
I personally love sharks and film them every chance I get off the NC coast we have big schools of sand tiger sharks few bulls and occasional GW. protect our sharks.
another reason for me to study marine biology as a grad student!!!! we share the same planet and must learn to work together as a community! the worlds biodiversity is in peril due to the HUMAN SPECIES!
Thank you and your team i believe this will be a long hard battle to prove to people that we need sharks and we cant be so barbaric of something we dont understand but i believe this will be the first step.
