Jaimi Faulkner is a young Australian songwriter who not only is a brilliant guitarplayer but also has a strong and warm soulfull voice. He sings the blues as easily as he sings a soulfull song or a singer-songwriter ballad. Above that he has a great personality and a good stage performance. The Epstein is a 5 piece alt-country band that has played the Glastonbury Festival twice. Last may they made a stunning impression as they were booked at the Rhythm & Bluesfestival at the Oosterpoort in Groningen, the Netherlands. Their debute cd ' last of the Charanguistas' has received nothing but good reviews in several countries. Yamit Mamo is a London based singer with roots in Israel. She brings a mixture of soul, pop and singersongwriter and became known in the UK by singing the soundtrack of the BBC series Dr. Who. in the meantime she has won a songcontest organised by Universal and sang in the Millenium dome. In 2008 she came to Holland to so a couple of acoustic gigs, together with the German/Dutch guitarist Inger Hanssen. Yamit is working on her new cd and now plays with a full band in London. This short film I made after having a chat with my neighbour who seemed to be a very normal and quiet guy, but who acually had a very interesting live as a sailor and a oilplatform diver, travelling and located around the world, until an accident hit him. He told me about his favourite spot, a place to reflect, to think things over, to remember, to relax, to forget; the harbour of IJmuiden and the fishermen upthere. I filmed him going there and it became a short portret of him part of some portrets of a moviefestival in 2006. In october 2005 I was in the Theater de Cameleon in Amsterdam were Lindy was playing. (She is the girl with the guitar on the video) We wanted to sing a song together so I wrote a song in between two sessions in the Theater's toilet. Unfortunatly it wasn't finished but we had great fun. The song is called ' Crossroads', hope to make it better soon and record it
