The second music video I directed for Dublin band Sickboy. There are a few idea behind this video;
two of the band members, Colm and Brian are identical twin brothers - like carbon copies of each other, which got me interested in the idea of copying and reproduction of images. I was also interested in the aesthetic of the home made fliers and self promotional material being produced by local bands, often cracked and torn black and white photocopies showing a picture of the band and a date etc. Also the idea of animating 'silent' photocopies of a face smushed up against the glass of a photocopier to make it appear as though they are singing was part of the idea.. So I photocopied colm's face in a photocopier and got him to move it around as the light from the copier passed his face to create distortions - we made hundreds of photocopies with all the main mouth/facial shapes needed for lip sync. Then I shot them playing on whitescreen, photocopied the frames etc - put the mouth shapes in order and photographed them etc. I think it worked out pretty well in the end...

A quick video I made for Dublin band Sickboy for their single and EP launch. I only had 1 day to shoot something and a couple of days with an editor to cut it. Little spy cameras were mounted onto the guitar heads and drumsticks etc so that I could get close up without making them feel self conscious. The song is about a death "taken away in a car", so I thought a car crushing yard could reflect some of the songs content, where cars go to die etc..

Two new ads I directed for 11890. The arms and legs of the characters are fingers and their heads were thumbs. Then the faces were shot live action and composited onto the thumbs, their costumes were tracked to the fingers and they were shot in a photographic set with 3D cameras in AE. The ad agency that approached us were DDFH+B, creatives Pete Snodden and Roisin Keown, after seeing "CURIOSITY" on YouTube, which also featured finger people. The agency producer was Dave Brady and Lovely Producer was Brunella Cocchiglia. Compositing and animation by me and Fergal Brennan and 3D by John O'Connell. I have a cameo as the greasy chipper guy in the first ad..

"Two caterpillars, wildy in love, embark on a journey of change.. but will they still feel the same when they emerge from their chrysalises?"
This was the first short film I made, it was commissioned by the Irish Film Board in 2005 and took me about 3 months to make from start to finish.. I had never animated before either so that's one of the reasons it took so long!
The music was composed by Graham Newcombe aka Romantic Pervert, for more of his music please visit: www.myspace.com/romanticpervertmusic

A short film exploring the relationship between art and corporate advertising in public space:
"A man, trapped in the confines of a corporate poster, tries to escape and become part of the street art on the opposite wall. Although the street art is free, it is condemned and usually destroyed to make way for advertising, a risk he is willing to take to be with the stencilled girl on the other side."
The music was by Graham Newcombe aka Romantic Pervert - his myspace page is up here: www.myspace.com/romanticpervertmusic

winning entry for the 'PSP Amaze Me' competition back in 2005 i think. This was shot as a practice run for a live recording that had to be made in a video booth. The 'Michael and Enda' mentioned at the start are mike and enda from D.A.D.D.Y who we were supposed to be pitching to, but we know them so just wanted to do something anonymously. The actual live video can be seen here:

The official discription is:
