Natural Mental Health Cures
Orthomolecular Psychiatry is nutrition and natural substances used to help balance any chemical imbalances in the body and treat mental disorders, mental illness or psychiatric symptoms. This is a natural way to treat mental health problems like Depression, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Anxiety problems, etc.
By correcting the imbalance naturally, you eliminate psychiatric symptoms for good without the use of long term medications which only cover up problems such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, anti-anxiety medications, etc.
Gwen Olsen spent fifteen years as a pharmaceutical sales rep working for such healthcare giants as Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Abbott Laboratories. She enjoyed a successful, fast-paced career until several conscious-altering experiences began awakening her to the dangers lurking in every American medicine cabinet. Her most poignant lessons, however, came as both victim and survivor of life-threatening adverse drug reactions. After leaving pharmaceutical sales in 2000, Gwen worked in the natural foods industry first as an Account Manager for Nature's Way, and then as a Regional Sales Manager for Gaia Herbs. She is currently a writer, speaker, and natural health consultant.
In this video Gwen discusses anxiolytics (anti-anxiety medications). These medications are sometimes also called minor tranquilizers. These drugs include the benzodiazephines such as Valium, Xanax and Ativan. Buspar is also non-benzodiazephine anxiolytic.
These drugs are highly addictive and people experience severe withdrawal symptoms when coming off of these drugs.
Gwen specifically talks about her own Xanax addiction.
She also discusses "rebound syndrome" and "discontinuation syndrome", which are basically just withdrawal symptoms.
Author and Ph.D. Psychologist, Dr. John Breeding discusses the psychology of eating disorders. He discusses anorexia, bulimia and compulsive over eating.
What you might find surprising is that most Americans have problems with eating.
Dr. Breeding discusses the addiction model of eating disorders, where problems in eating come from, how to be healthier, etc. You might be surprised to find out that most problems with eating stem from other problems in living. Without addressing the underlying cause of the problem, the person will not be able to fully recover.
Dr. Breeding also touches on nutrition, diet, sleep, water, heath food, fast food and a number of other topics.
Dr. Breeding recommends the following movies

In your video dated 9/5 you intended to define mental heath (i.e. we look at disorders more than wellness) while segueing (appropriately) to Maslow where the real question needs lies - what is self-actualization?... not solely the wish to obtain it.
Thankyou very much for sharing these things. Be careful though, the capability for using the internet to gather information about people is Stalin or Hitlers dream come true. peace (and thanks again).
thanks for posting on the truth about adhd with dr. breeding...Unfortunately, i was consumed into the ritalin thing when i was in kindergarden...I dropped the prescription when i was about 19..I still have mild problems even off the drug..
TY : )
When I eat out I hand the waiter an allernote (www.allernote.com) as I tell him what I can't eat. I'm getting some comfort out of it. Someone else may want to try it.
Xanax should be illegal. For every person that takes it responsibly, there's another 10 that abuse it and get addicted. I don't understand why doctors love prescribing it so much; some of the other benzos are way less addictive.
