A local cemetery that has fallen into complete dilapidation has busted graves, broken tombs, and rotting coffins baking in the hot sun. A friend and I are starting a campaign to try and get this historic cemetery cleaned and fixed up. This is a shot of a human skull lying in one of the graves that has - from time, weather, and neglect - broken open; the old iron casket inside has rotted and the bones (the pelvis is seen in this shot as well) and skull are visible. There is no headstone or marker for this poor person. The last time I saw this grave, it was full of water and the skull was floating in it. This time it was simply lying on the dank ground inside its crumbled tomb.

Charlotte Brandon used the cold, granite stone of her children's tombs to pen her despairing grief at their deaths.

My 16 mos-old niece *loves* to "talk" on the phone. She's been known to grab cell phones and walk out the room for privacy...of course, there's no one on the other end, but she carries on a lively conversation regardless. Today, I caught her as my sister gave her another pretend phone call on her cell phone.
