This is a gift from a reader, Agnieska from Poland – it is the painting of my guardian angel. I wrote a book about angels – I believe in angels. The book is called The Valkyries, it takes place in the Mojave Desert and there (and not only there) I had a very strong experience with angels. Having said that: I want you to share in this forum your experience with angels. Meaning, moments that you know that your angel is taking you out of trouble; moments that you know that your angel is helping you to get the things that you want. And of course I want you to discuss with us your beliefs in angels. This very important because even though people talk a lot about angels, they are not truly paying attention. Normally because they don’t notice that angels use other people to talk, to act for us.

Often I am asked: are you a magician? To which I always reply – of course I am a magician and I believe in magic. I also belong to an old tradition called RAM (that you can read in my book, The Pilgrimage). Having said that, RAM or any secret orders don’t have hidden secrets. I think that the only hidden secret is the hidden power that you have inside of you. Therefore I encourage you to talk about your hidden powers in his forum. To accept them, to tell us how you elaborated them and the difference they made in your life.

I asked this week to friends to stare a blank wall – what do you see? In my case, I’m used to stare to a blank wall or a candle – but I don’t try to empty my mind because this is impossible. I rather try to follow my train of thought on what happens inside of me and I’m not entirely conscious. So: stare to a blank wall and share here what you see.

Sometimes we are afraid to say that we like some art… In my case, earlier on in my life, I loved ABBA - but it was politically incorrect to say that in public since it was considered a too sweet and low… I also love writers such as Henry Miller and bestsellers such as Stephen King. It would probably be more politically correct to say that I love Baudelaire – which is not the case. So, what are your secret, hidden artists that you like but believe others don’t?

I have here Wired magazine and it’s written “itALIENS” – but if you remove “it” at the end of the day they mean “Aliens”. So, do you believe in Aliens? In my opinion there is life outside of this world – probably there are millions of planets that can generate life. People though usually think about aliens that can save or destroy this world. This is totally irrelevant – but I would like to know if you already had an experience with Aliens. I personally had, more than once, and the most recent one with UFO’s was in the Mojave Desert. So I want to hear from you if you had an experience which involved UFO’s or if simply you believe in extraterrestrial life.

Three weeks of this blog this week. It started with the Trans-Siberian back in 2006 and we are always trying to improve – and not simply invent something out of nothing – and craving for a better interaction between the readers. I check every day and moderate most of the comments, I don’t answer because I want you to talk among yourselves but it is time to do something different. So, what is your suggestion for this blog after these three years together? I am really open to your proposals and I also need your suggestions.

There is a small book here, in French called “Nasty Stories about Great Men”. Of course we all have nasty stories that we wish no one to hear, but sooner or later, they will surface. That’s why I permitted the publishing of my biography that’s not yet in English but is in Portuguese and Spanish. So – you cannot hide – and what would you say to your children that you don’t dare to say now? What will they discover after you die? I invite you to share this in the blog – either anonymously or with your real name. This way we can see that our vices are not that bad and that we are not the only ones with these flaws. We can then see these defaults as qualities because we survived. We are warriors of light that even against all odds are able to follow our paths without surrendering to guilt.

The sun is shining and there is light everywhere. As you know the sun was one of the main objects of adoration in humankind – which means that we have to have collective rituals. That’s I think religion can play a very important role since people are sharing the same respect for the same mysteries. Yet, spiritually, you can’t transfer your path to someone else. So, I would like to know: Are you engaged in some kind of collective worship? I’m not talking about religion: I’m actually talking about dance, sports, basically everything that we can do together and that at the end of the day we feel we are part of the same movement. So I would like to hear your opinion on that and hear of your collective worships – outside of religion if possible.

What is really the meaning of the word “peace”? Sometimes people don’t understand why I use the term “Warrior of Light” since I’m engaged in a kind of confrontation with life. I do this because I believe that Nature is also in a state of confrontation: springtime against winter, winter against summer, lions against zebras, etc. For me “peace” is an utopia as far as Nature is concerned. That said we need to strive for peace among ourselves but we also need to keep in mind that absolute peace is an utopia despite the many attempts of “peace” in the world. Consequently this state of peace may lead to boredom. In the light of this: Do you really want peace in the world? Have you ever considered that there was never peace in the world and that therefore this goal may simply be unattainable?

I, for instance, every time I have to do it, I try to engage in a conversation with someone I never met before. Do you do that? And if you dont: why are you so afraid of strangers?

I would like to hear your opinion on forgiving and forgetting. When people hurt you: do you forgive and forget? Or do you just forgive but don’t forget? People who tend to be seen as good – usually forgive and forget. But I don’t think that this is a question of being good or evil – I think the point is about being just. So maybe the tendency to forgive and forget those that have hurt us is not necessarily a good thing. Because if we don’t do anything to people that hurt us – they will probably continue on hurting others. This is the way I see it and I would like to hear you about this subject and also your own experiences.

Do you feel guilty when you do nothing? Meaning - do you feel that you are useless, that nobody cares when you don’t do anything or are you capable to relax and wait for the moment to act?

In many if my books I talk about symbols – as I also do in this blog (www.paulocoelhoblog.com. But we are one step away of becoming paranoiac about the signs – interpreting absolutely everything we stumble upon. So readers often ask me what is a sign and what isn’t. And I say that I cannot answer since my signs are not other people’s signs. It is an individual alphabet to talk to God. So, instead of explaining the signs, I normally try to share my signs. So why don’t you try to share your signs? I’m not saying it is an universal language – that your signs can be imposed to others – but you can give us examples of signs when these changed your life.

Sometimes religions can be very dumb. It is the case of my religion – The Catholic Church. In Brazil, we had this case of a young girl who got pregnant and the priest said – no abortion. Why? Because the canons of the Church – without considering the circumstances – denies abortion. So, I would like to know from you when we need to break the rules. Also, if you could elaborate and give me a list of the times when you broke the rules, I would appreciate.

Do you believe prayer can change this world? I heard of a fantastic experience in Africa and this week we will pray together with my friends and readers for the Saint Joseph’s Party on March 19th. We will pray to help to improve the state of the world. Some believe that prayer is too abstract – but I would like to hear your opinion on this. Thank you

Is Vanity something bad? I've finished publishing the first 12th chapters of my new book The Winner Stands Alone (I published nearly 1/10 of the book on line). The final chapter - on line - is about vamity. King Solomon starts the Ecclesiastes saying : "Vanity of vanities. All is vanity". Somehow vanity can destroy a person but can also puch a person to become a better human being. So nothing is absolute and I would like to hear your opinion on that. Mostly about your experiences with the good side of vanity.

How many times did you reinvent yourself in your lifetime? I’m asking this because I saw this week the new movie by Clint Eastwood the Gran Torino – and I’ve been following Clint Eastwood since his beginnings as an actor in class-B spaghetti westerns. In my book The Alchemist, Santiago, the shepherd boy, has to reinvent himself in order to get to his goal. I have also been in this situation and had to reinvent myself many times. So now I would like to know about you: How many times have you re-invented yourself and in which situations?
