Opening for Jonny Lang on 9/18/09
Lyrics:
She was waitin' on the bus and touchin' her face/ Always felt so outta place/ The most beautiful girl he'd ever seen/ And he was gonna tell her so, Gonna tell her so/ Walk right up and tell her so/ But it was over too soon and the doors closed in between, in between/ It doesn't matter what you say, it doesn't matter what you say, It doesn't matter what you say, if you don't/ And everybody feels afraid, but don't let it get in your way/ 'Cause it doesn't matter what you say, if you don't, if you don't/ Well she was makin' her copies in the copier room/ When the mailman walks through/ At a quarter past 3 like a thousand times before/ And she was gonna make her move, gonna make her move/ Walk right up say I love you/ But it was over too soon and he walked out the door, out that door/ CHORUS/ And you wanna say it, Can almost taste it, Come on don't waste it/ What's on your mind/ It doesn't matter what you say.....

Wrote this song while backpacking through Europe...got my guitar stolen in Paris...bought another one in Spain...had a blast...it's also called "Hey Hey Hey" and "The Run-on Sentence Song"...
Lyrics:
Now I don't wanna say it but I ain't gonna lie
There's somethin' dangerous about you that I cannot deny
Yes and I don't know the answer
Baby I can't tell if you're leadin' me closer to Heaven or hell
Oh but I would not control you darlin' I would not demand
I would try my best to find you instead of understand
Because I don't understand you, and I will not pretend
But you're the angel in the castle I'd give my life to defend, to defend
Hey, Hey, Hey...
Now you're the answer to this question ah this question I have raised
Is there somethin' out there better than what I know today
Is there somethin' out there better than what I know today
Oh darlin' you have got a price tag I don't know if I can pay
I have loved you since I met you I will love you till I die
Or at least as long as little kids love home-made apple pie
I'm just tryin' to be clever, the truth is I'm afraid
Darlin' you have got a price tag, but I love ya anyway, anyway
Hey, Hey, Hey...
Now open your imagination, let your fantasy run wild
Throw your head back fill your lungs and laugh like you are still a child
Though this world is full of danger, though this world is full of doubt
You and I are gonna find out what this life is all about
Run down to the open meadow feel the fullness of the sky
Race the wind until our feet lift off and we begin to fly
And the higher that we're climbin' the further we could fall
But if you've never loved wide open, you have never loved at all, at all
Hey, Hey, Hey...
Now I will hold you on the white sands off the southern coast of Spain
I will kiss you in the courtyards 'neath the warm and steady rain
I will scatter you like diamonds in the evening of the day
And I will run you through my fingers till the world is washed away
I will light you like a dry fuse I will hold you like a vase
I will wrap my arms around you in a cannonball embrace
I will wrap my arms around you I will kiss your pretty face
I will run you through my fingers till the world is washed away
Michael Logen opening for Jonny Lang at The House of Blues, New Orleans playing award-winning song, "Mystery" from his debut album, "Things I Failed To Mention".
Lyrics
Mystery
words and music by michael logen
She’s the ancient longing that I feel beside the ocean
When I look across the waters deep and still
She’s a new belonging like some love-inducing potion
And I’ll never reach the bottom of this well
Cause she wants to be a mystery and I know I’ve never found her really
She wants to be a mystery to me
She wants to be a mystery so I wrap my soul around her because
She’ll always be a mystery to me
She’s a side of God, I’ve never seen in my own soul
A whisper of the way we ought to be
She’s a soft reminder of the world when it was whole
And part of her is just beyond my reach
CHORUS
As timeless as the mountains and the sea
The beauty of a lady mystery
CHORUS
