My friend and artist Chris Uphues asked me to write a poppy 1 minute song pertaining to Valentines Day. So I did. I knew it was going to be used with animated images of his work but nothing specific. I sent the song and didn't hear back for awhile. Then I got word that it was close to being finished. So I got happy. Then I got this and I was thrilled. I suggest putting on headphones and turning it up.
Happy Valentines Day.

Beautiful music in a dive bar. Dropping in on the end loop to the song Hide Your Smiles. I've embraced solo performance again and have been concentrating on layering songs with the use of a loop pedal. This was my first time playing any on stage. Other than the ubiquitous chatter (people have so much to say) it sounded exactly like I had hoped.
A tribute. Taken from my last live show. It's actually the first part of a medley we do. I may post the whole thing soon since it was shot to show Ryan and I playing effortlessly together. We really do.
Istvan & His Imaginary Band return to the Chicago stage Saturday September 8th. Join Istvan, Diane and Kendall for an evening of song and surprises at The Gallery Cabaret 2020 N. Oakley.
Also performing are the wonderful MyMyMy and of course the guardian angels of rock Bad Nurse.
Show starts at 10pm and is unreasonably free!
A few facts about John Brown.
Although the song states he is 16 he is probably more along the lines of 17 or even 18! He has definitely seen the tail end of the 80's and has the battle scars to prove it.
I am proud and confident in stating that John brown is my biggest fan. He will wake from a dead sleep when he hears me sing or tap out a beat and is always at my side when i am recording or rehearsing at home.
And did you know that John Brown most readily responds to a quick snap of the fingers? Dig it. That's John Brown.
