Using the Forum as your platform, post a personal resolution in the The Mom Diaries that you will focus on during the 12 weeks of the Challenge. Your resolution can center on ways to better balance work, family and education. Explain how you resolve to manage your time, stay organized any topic on how you juggle your work and your life is fair game! This single resolution will be your theme throughout the Challenge.
And dont forget to check-in throughout the week...
To help maintain your resolve and keep your momentum going during the 12-week Challenge, log on to the The Mom Diaries. Start the week off right by posting to your diary each Monday. Your check-ins are an opportunity to share information and discuss work, college and family issues that you and your peers are facing on a daily basis.
As part of the Moms Challenge, Ashworth has scheduled two live online events on February 18 and March 18. Dubbed Mom Connection, the online events are open to anyone interested in discussing topics important to working mothers and student mothers. Yuma, Arizona native Carolina Alforo had dreams for making a better life for herself and her family. Pursuing a diploma in Massage Techniques from Ashworth University's Career School was the first step to reaching her goal of becoming a child care management specialist.
Alforo's years of study, balancing life and family obligations began to pay off when she received her diploma from Ashworth, a leader in distance education. However, there was still one thing missing... the opportunity to attend her graduation ceremony which would be held August 9 in Norcross, GA.
Enter veteran TV host Cristina Saralegui. Familiarly known as the Latina "Oprah," Saralegui is a revered activist among the Hispanic community. Through her Univision show, The Cristina Show, she hosts a one-hour, primetime special entitled Soñando Contigo ("Dreaming with You") which aims to make a dream a reality for a deserving Hispanic family or individual.
Alfaro's story came to the attention of show producers who were reviewing thousands of requests for the September 15 segment which will air on Univision at 10:00 p.m., EST. Coming from a family of seven, Alfaro is the first to complete a higher education program. Unfortunately, financial constraints prevented her from attending her Ashworth graduation ceremony in Norcross, a community just north of Atlanta.
"We reviewed thousands of letters," said Isabel Cuervo, Cristina Show producer. "Having the opportunity to meet Carolina and her family, we know we made the right selection. She is goal-oriented and very deserving."
On August 6, 2008, representatives from Soñando Contigo flew to Yuma where they surprised her with a special graduation present -- an opportunity for her and her parents to attend the Ashworth's ceremony. Within 24 hours, Carolina, her parents and the production crew arrived in Atlanta for a whirlwind of graduation activities.
In this video, from Ashworth's 2008 Graduation Ceremony, Carolina shares are experiences as an Ashworth student with her Massage Techniques Instructor, Kristy McIntyre Carter.

We look forward to hearing from you!
its amazing how something so little like a book being a tad outdated will cause someone to drop out. travis i'm srry to say this but that was pretty damn stupid.
Travis, it has been my experience with Ashworth University, that although you might get a slightly outdated book, the overall coarse is perfect for your introduction into your desired studies. Sorry you gave up so quickly.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ASHWORTH UNIVERSITY!!!! I enrolled in their psychology degree program and they sent me a business textbook that was 5 years old. I cancelled and they are charging me $202.34 for outdated book and tests i took.STAY AWAY!!!!!!
