One of my Monarchs eclosing (emerging) from it's chrysalis. The chrysalis usually is hanging, but I tried to move it too soon and wasn't able to rehang it. Fortunantly I was standing right next to it when it started to eclose. You'll see me move a stick to it, I'm not poking it, just trying to get it up off the ground. It doesn't grab the stick, so I have to pick it up by the chrysalis, very carefully. I put it in my enclosure with the other that eclosed this morning, and all the other chrys. They need to hang from something to expand and dry thier wings. This little wonder has fully expanded HER wings. A gorgeous Female Monarch was born.
