When we heard about this ridiculous event called an Urban Iditarod being held in Portland where the normally civilized and citified folks of Portland go a little nuts dressing up, drinking and running around in a massive drunken parade we said what any of you would have said...Count us in!! The Pdx Urban Iditarod, which takes place on the same day as the Alaskan Iditarod, is exactly like the great Alaskan adventure you’ve seen on the Wide World of Sports...with a few exceptions...instead of sleds we use shopping carts...instead of dogs... we use drunkards...I mean...er...sobrietously challenged yet somewhat athletic individuals, and our checkpoints are bars around the city rather than small villages hundreds of miles apart. See what I mean, pretty much the same exact thing!
