Riders of the Tri-Met Max Blue Line knew we were shuttle bussing from Ruby Junction to Gresham TC because of the PDX metro area blizzard... of sorts shutting down the last 3 Gresham stops at the end of the east blue line. Okay, no problem there. The problem was, they made us stand there for over an hour in temperatures in the low 20's to wait for a single shuttle.
This shuttle just barely held the entire passengers waiting. At final count, the bus contained roughly 26 people. One woman even fainted during the wait because her body could not sustain the cold. She explained this as her being an unfortunate patient of cancer, which she is currently getting treatment for.
They would not let us sit in east bound lane Max, which was sitting operational but idle for the entirety of the wait to warm up, much to the dismay of two dozen freezing people. About a half hour in, the lone Tri-Met employee guiding people and answering vital questions about times and transfers suddenly vanished on the westbound blue line leaving us all stranded.
All of us who are rational understand that there will be some delays and transfers during bad weather. Tri-Met, your poor scheduling of these Max to shuttle bus transfers could have potentially caused injury or even death to riders. Perhaps at least be honest about the fact that riders would be sitting in below freezing temperatures for more than an hour. This organization has lost my respect for this single incident. The video is just a short I took near the beginning of wait. I was hoping to take it for fun, not to show people Tri-Met’s irresponsibility for it’s passengers.

We get hammered with 50-75mph winds on top of the snow. SE Portland, the west side and the south areas don't get the crappy wind like we do. The only place worse is the next (very small) town over, Hood River. It got much worse than this later in the day. Zero visibility.
