Just farting around by some of the aquariums at the house - trying 2 different cheapie cameras to get descent footage.... The Fuji was seamless. The Vivitar was a bit Jerky.
Both did far better than my HasselBlad which is basically an overpriced piece of junk incapable of shooting through the surface of water under 20,000Kelvin and 35,000Kelvin lights
Pretty good variety of corals propogating. the Sidestrea Radians that has spread throughout the whole system came in with some Haitian live rock a while back and is not only doing well... it seems almost indestructible - it is debateable as to whether it could be considered a nuisance like Aiptasia or something - it has propogated that quickly and throughout the entire system - including areas where there is little light.... Would make an excellent beginners coral and do well in "fish only" tanks too.

This is a vid of one of the grassflats we replanted about 3 years ago after BoatUS left an area about 200 yards or so wide by 300+ yards long just in a complete barren sandbar state due to them "prop dredging" a boat off of the grassflat. part 2 of 2
The vessel Gulf Coast Crustacean Research uses to study Micro-crustaceans and restore our grassflats in our Florida Waterways. Boat was custom built by Marine Dynamics of Englewood, Florida (http://www.marinedynamics.com) at actual cost because they too want to see just a little bit of the pretty Florida waterways we all grew up with come back in our lifetimes.
Now this grassflat in this video is another that had been taken down to barren Sand Wasteland less than a year ago by SeaTow "prop Dredging" a boat off of this spot. Literally there was an area 200 Yards wide by almost 1400 Feet of lush Grassflat taken down to nothing but sand. With the assistance of someone who donated the money for fuel to Gulf Coast Crustacean Research (see how at http://myspace.com/tkiergen - over on the left of his page) we were able to not only restore the grassflat to its former beauty.... We were able to run down to the keys and get some plants that used to be in this area and transplanted 3 150 Quart coolers full of what they call "shaving brush" which is a pretty neat plant in that not only does it provide a home for many of the micro crustaceans that used to be normal to the gulf; it exudes calcium into the water and at the same time provides a natural particulate filter that clears up the water so folks can enjoy things better. The shaving brush plant is doing excellent and has covered about 100 yards by close to 1/4 mile so far. Normally this grassflat would have taken about 3 years to recover this far along. Compliments of a donation for fuel and Marine Dynamics of Englewood, Florida (http://www.marinedynamics.com)making sure our boats keep running on the cheap.... This flat has been recovered in just under 1 year - using only species native to Florida. Time invested was a couple of days wandering Florida bay in the keys, a day or so pulling just a few plants from a variety of local grassflats and about 3 weeks straight of replanting the barren wasteland that had been left by SeaTow's irresponsible actions -- total fuel bill was just under 1800 bucks. Restoring these areas is important in that they are the nursery for the gulf - all of the little baby fish you see in the vids stand a better chance of growing up when they have an adequate diet and places to hide as well as good quality water which the filtration action of our Florida Grassflats provides.
This is a video of 8 sites combined into one of the grassflats we have been restoring where Boat US and Seatow have been "prop Dredging" vessels off of the grassflats leaving completely barren sand in their path - often in swaths hundreds of yards wide and long.
Thanks go to Marine Dynamics (http://www.marinedynamics.com) for keeping our boats running on our limited budget and to all the folks who donate to Gulf Coast Crustacean Research and make it possible for us to continue on our adventures in bringing back just a little bit of the pretty Florida we all grew up with.
Just a Quikie vid with yet another cam to see if myspace likes the cam without having to re-render. Tanks are the ones I host for Gulf Coast Crustacean Research - Hot tub in it is coming online soon
This was Bikeweek 2005 - My last race with the Ducati. 3 months before the 1,317,251.3 mile 1987 GoldWIng in the pic with me died ( I was wearing a Sweatshirt that matched the bike for those who don't know me). While I no longer ride for legal reasons ( got caught doing 185 in a 65 on I-55 and all them numbers just messed me up) and in the interest of public safety (low blood pressure - prone to passing out for 2 or 3 seconds at a time when I overheat in the summer), this is probably the best set of pics I shot. So I turned them into a slide show and had some fun with it for ya'all.
This is uploaded as artwork only - all the pics are mine and ya'all can pass them around as much as you like, The music I got right here on Myspace a few months ago -dont remember which band but they were on my friends list somewhere - I just had fun making it and hope ya'all enjoy it!
