A brief interview amidst the vineyards of this popular winery, chatting about "veraison" which is not really a technical term, so much as a French term describing the changing of the berries (grapes) from green to their end color. Dr. Karasz also discusses his winery, Rock Stream Vineyards, which is the only winery licensed as a distillery on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and whose Reisling-based Grappa (grape vodka) won a double gold medal at the recent 2009 NY Wine and Food Classic competition.

Liz Stamp, co-owner of Lakewood Vineyards, provides an overview of her winery in between glasses of wine at the annual, 2009 Seneca Lake Wine Trail Picnic. This annual, private, event brings together dozens of owners, winemakers, vineyard managers, staff and select friends for an evening of fun food, wine and conversation. Liz also spends some time discussing the collaborative nature of member wineries, as exemplified by the picnic itself, and provides viewers with an excellent description of our upcoming Deck the Halls Weekend events in November and December.
