The infamous Tango from the 2007 production of The Rite of Venus, edited by Alex Remon, choreographed by Kerry Christensen

This is another video clip from The Rite of Venus. Aside from being one of my favorite arrangements from the Rite, it is also something of a requiem, and I hope that it is performed when the time comes for my loved one's to celebrate my greater feast. The poetry is beautiful, and it seems sad and hopeful and the same time.

Footage from the 2007 presentation of The Rite of Venus. This was a great song to arrange and stage, as the cast is waking up from a night of debauchery to the obligatory post-party hang-over argument. The music is structured around a 7/8 time traditional belly dance rhythm, and there is just enough going on during the scene that the plot can get lost if you are not paying attention. A very fun scene to perform!
