Robert Bozeman Jr. is a survivor of gun violence and a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. His single minded ways nearly caused him to lose his life many times; however he refused to learn from the mistakes of others. Thinking he could get a different outcome if he just played his cards right, Robert continued to spend time in places with people he was warned were not looking out for his best interest.
Ultimately, this mentality changed his life forever both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. On an evening in February of 2005, after being warned that very night not to do so, Robert went out on the town with his "friends." The outing took an almost fatal turn when an altercation broke out between one of the friends and an offended patron at the club. Shots rang out and in the end, Robert was shot in the head and left to die by his two friends.
As a result of the injury, Robert spent five days in a coma fighting for his life. His recovery included him having to learn how to walk and talk all over again. Understanding how fragile life is and having been humbled by his experience, Robert has committed his new life to educating people of all ages. His message is about senselessness of gun violence as well as how choices and decisions affect their lives. His desire is to help people learn from his mistakes. Labeled "The Anti-Violence Ambassador" by the Black Affairs Advisory Board, Robert "The Messenger" Bozeman Jr. is a voice for today to speak a word of peace and inspiration to our future.

There is currently a bill before the U.S. House of Representatives to establish a United States Department of Peace. This historic measure will augment our current problem-solving options, providing practical, nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict. The legislation will pass from bill to law under one condition: that a wave of citizen interest rise up from the American people and make itself heard in the halls of Congress. During the 20th Century, over 100 million people lost their lives to war -- most of whom were non-combatants. Now, at the dawn of the 21st century, the extent and current speed of nuclear proliferation makes the achievement of non-violent alternatives to war the most urgent need of the human race. www.ThePeaceAlliance.org

THE STORY
The amazing "TKF Story" began in San Diego, California on the tragic evening of January 21, 1995 when 20-year-old San Diego State University (SDSU) student Tariq Khamisa was shot and killed while delivering pizzas by a 14-year-old gang recruit. His assailant, Tony Hicks, fired the fatal bullet on orders from an 18-year-old gang leader.

The immediate response of Azim Khamisa, upon learning of his son's murder, was not the usual one of demanding revenge and retribution. Instead, he saw two of America's sons lost - one forever and one to the state prison system:

"From the onset, I saw victims on both ends of the gun. I will mourn Tariq's death for the rest of my life. Now, however, my grief has been transformed into a powerful commitment to change. Change is urgently needed in a society where children kill children.
