It’s done under the cover of night. Sometimes with complete strangers. You get sweaty. It gets messy. Your adrenaline spikes. Is this even legal? And what is underground artist Robbie Conal doing here? Ah, yes... it’s time for a poster run…the latest chapter of the WAR, INC. grassroots campaign.
For the uninitiated, Wikipedia describes Robbie Conal as a “guerrilla poster artist noted for his gnarled, grotesque depictions of U.S. political figures of note.” His legendary poster runs involve unsuspecting cities being blanketed with posters over the course of a night… on traffic light boxes, construction sites, well-lit bus shelters... any surface deemed worthy… and trust me, after a few posters, it’s hard not to become a surface elitist. Paintbrushes, a gallon or two of glue and an adventurous spirit is all that’s needed. An alibi and a getaway car can’t hurt either.
Lucky for us, Robbie created one of his masterpieces for WAR, INC., and a rag tag group of friends, family and new friends (thanks again, Myspacers) recently convened in various cities across the country to get into some trouble. The Los Angeles faction had the pleasure of a pep talk from the master himself along with a rundown on the do’s and don’ts (yes, there is an etiquette involved, we’re guerrillas, not animals).
Did it get messy? Yes. Did anyone get arrested? No. Was it unforgettable? Absolutely.
A big thanks to all of you who came out and supported WAR, INC. We are truly honored by your generosity, creativity and support. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Johnny
OK I cant add more than one comment?? whatever..... like I was saying in response to Rock,Paiger,Scissors talking about socrates. Socrates, like John, like ironic humor, like satire, all easy to go misunderstood.. I think there is truth to satire.

As everyone knows, Socrates spoke for all skeptics when he said, “All I know is that I know nothing.” But is that what he really said? But I'm all for this Satire... "War, Inc." Shakespearean... Truth in satire? !
You are really making this movie very exciting for me. I can't wait to see it. Keep up the great work and keep writing the very interesting political commentary and political blogs. Really good stuff. I may write you in as president!!! ; )
Honestly I just added you as a friend because I am a fan, but upon further inspection I realize this is partly a promo. I like it. If you thought of it, kudos to you Jon Cusack! (I can't help it I am in the ad biz)
