I taped one of the combat offloads I conducted on a local training line out of Charleston AFB, SC. Circa 2002. Basically a combat offload consists of the pilots pushing the engines up to power, standing on the brakes. As the loadmaster you may hear me say (over the noise) 'Standby......Brakes....Release' - at which point the pilot releases the breaks as I simultaneous unlock the pallet locks in the floor holding the cargo from going fore and aft. At that point the cargo flies out the back and I would state 'Load Clear' and then we stop and reset for taxi. It's a long video and alot of it is boring as we back the aircraft up (that's me saying 'Come on back, come on back, etc etc while I am sitting on the back of the ramp).

You have to watch carefully, but watch the windscreen of the jet and you can catch firey fingers of St Elmo's Fire. Basically it is static discharge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Elmo%27s_fire
