Ever since I bought this CD, 'i don't want to say goodbye' by hello menno, a band that includes my friend Theresa Saso, I've been inspired to put some images to the sounds.
This song, 'every' brought to mind an old lust of my own from the early 90s that I thought worked really well with the lyrics. It's a wonderful CD and if you haven't heard it, you can listen to tracks on the band's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/hellomenno - this is my interpretation.

I say DO ASK, DO TELL!
In the words of Harvey Milk, it is critical for us to be VISIBLE. It is important to insist that we will no longer be invisible, the we will no longer allow ourselves to be treated as second class citizens. Let's tell everyone who we are. TELLING is the most radical political action that any of us can take. We need to TELL as a group in rallies and events and we need to tell individually, one-on-one. We need to TELL so everyone can see who we are and that we will not go away!
And, DO ASK. Do ask me about who I am, what I care about and about my struggles and experiences. I am happy to tell you about what it's like for me to be Gay. And in ASKING, you will get to know that I want the same things that any human being wants, and that I'm not that different. So, please ASK ME - it's okay - I want to share who I am with you.
So, that's my philosophy and that's my call to action: DO ASK, DO TELL and thanks to everyone for supporting equal rights for ALL!
This is my take on Kim Canazzi's book, Tom Quinn and the Otherworld:

I know Kim, and so it was interesting to find out what a great writer she is - who knew?! Tom and the Otherworld is about the faerie world, the human world and their intersection in the person of Tom Quinn, a young coal miner's son from Appalachia. Through an interesting set of cirucumstance, Tom gets thrust into the big city and the world of the speakeasy and the carnival. The corruption and decadence of that world is shot through and through with the mystery and joy of falling in love with someone different....
Tom makes an interesting choice... read the book and find out - you won't be sorry. I really, really loved this book!

Love@Work and Black LGBT community Rally on Sunday 11/23 - walking up Crenshaw Blvd, empowered in the African American community - this was an amazing event - very powerful and got a lot of attention on the street!

For me what REALLY DISTINGUISHES this protest from any other GLBT rights protest/march I have ever been to (and that's lots and lots) was the HUGE number of straight people there and the multi-ethnicity that characterized today's rally. I am so gratified...we have finally evolved from a splinter issue/group to part of the progressive, multi-issue movement. I am so fucking proud and happy!!
