© 2008 otonomiyaki. 2008 is a pivotal year for bio-diversity and same sex marriage. We can now all think green and we can now all get married. Two bicyclists ride randomly together and/or not together during the course of Soundwalk 2008. Each bicycle is rigged with a heavy duty assembly of pvc pipe attached to the bicycle, cable attachment to the pvc and a custom percussion instrument to be dragged ala fishing pole and/or shoes attached to the end of a wedding car. The act of riding then creates a sound which can be regulated by the speed of the cyclist and in the manner of the work bouncing and dragging. Each bicycle will be attached with a percussion tree that will be a combination of metal sounds, plastic sounds, or chime sounds. During the course of the evening, cyclists can change their percussion attachments to softer or louder assemblies. Cyclists will ride in groups or solo, thereby presenting new textures of sound and rhythms while on the go.
