Porky the Pig, Samantha the Model, and Federal Director Kevin Gaudet hosted the Canadian Taxpayers Federation's annual Teddy Waste Awards on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on March 11, 2009. Winners included the Canada Council for the Arts for funding a poop machine and a flying banana, a Manitoba welfare agency for its "spa days", the City of Vancouver for its Olympic Village project, and the Big 3 auto makers for sucking up corporate welfare.

On January 21, 2009, the CBC ran a special version of Dragons' Den. The panel was given a fictitious $20 billion to boost the economy. Various sectors came forward to propose where the money should go. We said it should go back into the hands of the people.
