Jonathan and other crewmembers of the Krewe of Pirates brought their bead cannons to the Felix Fest Block Party during NOLA Pyrate Week, and up to the Avenue Pub's balcony. Then taught Capt. Jack how to fire one of them.

This video was taken by Jamaica Rose, who was marching in the parade. Take with a small digital camera (so it's not great quality, but you can see what's going on). I ran ahead and caught up with the parade near the front of it. (I ran out of breath, and couldn't catch up with the first band). They were marching down Decatur Street towards Jackson Square. I missed the very head of the parade, but you can see the video start with Polly of the Avenue Pub with her little pirate daughter (pirate hat with red feather). Then the Krewe of Pirates with their mini-ship floats armed with bead cannons. Then comes a bicycle-powered ship float with pink sails. More pirates follow, one talking on a shell-phone. There's Tall Jack, and wenches. Then a very eye-catching lass in red satin coat with flame-colored feathers. A brass jazz band follows. Kate of Perfect Pirate costuming and Capt. Jack (Brandon) are next. The WAIFNOLA pirates promote getting all pets neutered and finding homes for all animals that became strays after Katrina. You'll see the No Quarter Given banner next, carried by Cap'n Michael and SharkByte, tailed by our friend Robert of the AZ Corsairs. Thom Bedlam (with his pegleg over his shoulder) and other pirates I don't know, then Hornsby and members of T.A.G. (Theme Actors Group), as well as Suzie of John Levique Days, and Gary Perez of Dragonfly smiling at my camera, just before Reddy (of T.A.G.) beads me. In the first car is Amzie Adams and flutist playing "Drunken Sailor". The decorated hearse is an awesome mobile work of art created by it's driver Kelly Israel. A pick up full of pirates brings up the rear.

The NOLA Pyrate Week parade through the French Quarter moves down St. Peter Street and turns onto Bourbon St. Shot while marching with the parade. Right at the end of the video you see a lass on the right trying to take our photo, and then she lost her balance and fell back on her arse in the street. That's why the video stopped there -- I was checking to see if she was ok. She got right back up.
