John Trudell was inducted into the High Times Counterculture Hall of Fame at the 18th Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam. John is one of the most famous native activists, as well as one of America's greatest poets.
It was a rebuilding year, noted mostly for the 21 vaporizor salute that kicked off Opening Ceremonies at the Melkweg. Stephen Gaskin was inducted into the Counterculture Hall of Fame, joining his wife, Ina May. They are the only Counterculture Hall of Fame couple.
The 12th High Times Cannabis Cup featured the inductions of the leading lights of the Beat Generation, and the celebrity judges included Stephen and Ina May Gaskin, Robert Anton Wilson, Paul Krassner and Michka. The soundtrack was provided by Orin Bolton.
The 11th Cannabis Cup featured the inductions of Mezz Mezzrow and Louis Armstrong into the Counterculture Hall of Fame. The coffeeshop that won both the 9th and 10th Cups pulled out a few days before the event. This was the only Cup to be streamed live over the Internet.
The 9th Cup featured John Trudell, former chairman of the American Indian Movement; while,the 10th Cup gave birth to the Counterculture Hall of Fame with the induction of Bob Marley. Both were won by De Dampkring.
Part one covers Cannabis Cup 1-8. The first few Cups were dominated by Nevil's Seed Bank, followed by short reigns by Sensi Seed Bank, and then the Green House.
