In mid-June 2008 Famoudou Don Moye, the legendary drummer/percussionist, worked on a project with trumpeter Dennis Gonzalez, as well as with his sons, bassist Aaron Gonzalez and drummer Stefan Gonzalez in Dallas, along with New Orleans saxophonist Tim Green. This is the composition Renegade Spirits; documented on June 19, and just released on Furthermore Recordings.
In early July 2008, Yells At Eels took to the road once again. This time the destination was the Cha'ak'ab Paaxil Improv Music Festival in Merida, Yucatan, by way of Monterrey's Espacio Cultural Gargantua, under the auspices of Juan Castañón and Maria Belmonte.
Marty Monroe, producer for the fledgling jazz label Furthermore Recordings, came to Dallas to record us on his company's new recording equipment. This piece is from the first session, at the crib.

At midnight on May 23, 2008, Aaron assembled a 6-piece ambient group called Age of Disinformation. For 47 minutes they played a swirling, exciting piece that has been edited down to just under 9 minutes.
[Note: Sound and Image are not synced-up!] Yells at Eels was asked to do a tough gig at Dallas Convention Center on April 17, 2008. We played for some 8,000 librarians from across the state of Texas, and it took an hour to set up, and then we played for 30 minutes only to be ushered off by a rude stage manager. The TLA staff was beautiful to us and the audio-visual crew did a great recording for us.
In March of 2008, Yells At Eels, with special guest Rodrigo Amado on tenor saxophone, toured Northwestern Poland under the auspices of promoter Zbigniew Szwajewski. This video, filmed by Dennis, is a chronicle of their passage through Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, and Warsaw.
