Polarity/1’s use of “broken record” sound at the start of “The Marvin Stomp” makes his song anything but broken. In fact, the introductory sounds are so upbeat that the repetition is quite satisfying. The jazzy twists and swingin’ beat sure give the performers in the Battery Dance Company something to dance about. Just try listening to these melodies without moving along – Polarity/1’s eclectic compilation of bouncy, enthusiastic noises will have his listeners dancing inside and out.

“Swing That Kaddish” starts out sounding like something from another land as the dancers of the Battery Dance Company do their thing to the persuasive noises of electronica mastermind Polarity/1. The wailing voices and echoing bellows floating over dynamic drums and piano are what set this music apart from the typical and ordinary. This song ranges from unpredictable energy to hectic musicality in an instant, which are exactly what reserves Polarity/1’s place in music history.

The Battery Dance Company performs “I’ll Take You There” at the 26th Annual Downtown Dance Festival to the mesmerizing electronica of Polarity/1. “Senhor Softee” contributes magnetic pulses and playful xylophone to the soundtrack; however, this song is rather tame in comparison to Polarity/1’s usual chaotic melodies and unconventional sounds. This is not a bad thing, as even a simple beat from Polarity/1’s unique musical approach proves to be exciting and powerful.

Nicknamed "The News Dissector," independent filmmaker Danny Schechter has released a new documentary, called 'Plunder', based on his book, "Plunder: Investigating Our Economic Calamity and the Subprime Scandal". The film looks at the recent economic calamity from an objective point of view, and touches on all aspects of the crisis; subprime mortgages, the credit crisis, Bernie Madoff, and the role of the government to name a few. The teaser trailer shows clips of regular citizens, businessmen, newscasters and former president Bush discussing the economic crisis. Words like "depression" and "class war" thrown out there, and it is clear that this documentary seeks to get to the bottom of what caused this crisis, and what we can do to get out of it.

On January 24, 2009, post-pop duo Koko Dozo (Polarity/1 & Amy Douglas) brought their unique blend
of funk/disco/dance music to Tubway in New York City. www.kokodozo.com
"Spaceman" is more of that familiar post-pop funk that Koko Dozo does so well. In this live
performance, Polarity/1 is rocking the guitar while Amy sings her heart out. The song has a bit
of an otherworldly vibe at times, but it is without a doubt another great jam for the party at Tubway.
One thing is clear from watching both videos - Koko Dozo have a definite stage presence and know
how to work a crowd!

Koko Dozo's performance of "Boomchi" has a strong disco vibe and it is the perfect fit for the
Tubway stage. Amy is on fire here with some really powerful singing (in Spanish, no less).
A quick glimpse of the crowd shows that they are having a great time as well.
