J. Karai - The Victors! - Joshua Karai

We're on a speed train towards disaster Catastrophe nipping at our heels Fear of the day that we stop breathing is The only thing that keeps us fighting on And it looks like we're in for nasty weather What bothers me most seems to be the heat So prepare yourselves, batten down the hatches Take the punch and stay up on your feet Pack your things and towards the inland Find some shelter, take it as it comes Bow our heads and pray that if we go, we all go swiftly Ride it out as we're waiting for the sun One day, our hearts may just stop beating They'll open us up and find out who we are The blood, the sweat, the tears, the fear, the can-do's and the cannot's The love, the hate, the faith, the fate, the biology, our biography And it looks like we're in for nasty weather What bothers me most seems to be the heat So prepare yourselves, batten down the hatches Take the punch and stay up on your feet Pack your things and towards the inland Find some shelter, take it as it comes Bow our heads and pray that if we go, we all go swiftly Ride it out as we're waiting for the sun If we catch a glimpse of light coming through the cracks of the heavy doors in front of us We'll raise our mighty swords and we'll knock it down And we'll fight and proclaim ourselves the victors! We are the weilders of fire and fury! We are the enemies of death! We are the enemies of death! We are the enemies of death! We are the enemies of death! We are the enemies of death! And it looks like we're in for nasty weather What bothers me most seems to be the heat So prepare yourselves, batten down the hatches Take the punch and stay up on your feet Pack your things and towards the inland Find some shelter, take it as it comes Bow our heads and pray that if we go, we all go swiftly Ride it out as we're waiting for the sun named after a Kahlil Gibran poem...inspired by a Salvatore Quasimodo poem and an episode of "Deadliest Catch" (who knew)...written for my grandfather
