Classically trained Indian vocalist Falu provides the soundtrack to this scene from “Enlighten Up,” an indie documentary about a skeptic’s journey into the world of yoga. The Sanskrit shloka (hymn of praise) sung here by Falu is taken from Bhagavad Gita (a scared scripture of Hinduism) and speaks of surrendering oneself to the higher power.
The 2009 documentary “Enlighten Up” follows a yoga virgin (Nick Rosen) as he’s prodded into the yoga world by Kate Churchill, a filmmaker determined to prove that yoga can transform anyone. The following clip captures Nick as he heads into the ashrams of northern India.
