“Lipstick Promises” was a fun video to shoot because – well - hey, I got to drive a really cool old Corvette, which was a lot cooler than my really old Ford truck…! I shot it just weeks after I shot my first video, “Teardrops”, and both were shot in beautiful Los Angeles summer sun (and smog), before I had even hit the road yet to begin touring. Of course, “Lipstick” wound up being the big hit of my first CD, it went to #5 on the charts, and the video actually went #1 on CMT! In retrospect under those circumstances, I should have been smiling a lot more in this video…Just wish I coulda’ kept that car – dang it!
