The latest project from Seattle group State Of The Artist is the 'Shapeshifters' mixtape. A 15-track project with contributions from the group's three MC's Parker, Young TH, and Hyphen8d, and production from Fresh Ill Junkie, DJ Will Scott, the Skiii Team, and the group's own MC/Producer, Parker. The release is set for July 28th 2009, after which the group plans shows in Seattle, and in California as the summer comes to a close. The project is a collection of feel-good music, a sound compared to Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Digable Planets, Slum Village, etc. Six of the songs feature original production, and the rest is a collection of borrowed beats put together to create a uniform feel and vibe.
