The current release on Cocoon Digital comes from Cocoon Ibiza resident Arian, to many rather known as Arian 911. The DJ and producer who shuttles between Ibiza and Frankfurt hereby releases the wonderfully twisted "Dadap Dadap”, the proper "IAYF Remix" and another remix by the Spanish newcomer Rickzor alias Ricardo Martinez. While listening to "Dadap Dadap”, everyone will understand why we do not try to categorize or pigeonhole this sound. Arian's way of production has often proved to be novel, unorthodox or difficult to feel out, and with this track he definitely lives up to this reputation. With the help of all kinds of sounds, babbles, background noises and vocal bits, he creates a sonic dimension in which one can easily lose any objective perception. Next to its sonic depth, "Dadap Dadap” is also very groovy and downright monstrously percussive. In the "IAYF Remix” a sick Tech House beat with a powerful bass meets catchy, sometimes alienated vocals. This grants an almost psychedelic atmosphere to this road-tested dance floor filler. For Rickzor it has been an audible pleasure to create his proper, rather straight and technoid version, using his very own and authentic handwriting. The story of Sven Väth, Cocoon and especially Ibiza has been told in so many ways and so many times over the last few years, with interviews, press releases, party reviews, bulletin boards and much more which does not actually leave much room for additions. Cocoon Ibiza is, and remains, one of the cornerstones of the Ibizan party universe that is calling out for the island's invasion every summer. The fact that we are now approaching our tenth year was not something that anybody would honestly have imagined after the first very hard years. So the tenth year is a year for us to say thank you! This year, the uncompromising musical path that Cocoon has stood for over the last ten years will be, of course, continued and even refined. Trailer for the first Cocoon artist DVD released February 15th, 2009. When Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson founded Minilogue in 2000, it was not only a musical project but also a visual one. From the beginning, the two musicians thought animals to be the front for Minilogue. These animals do not actually exist, they are imaginary animals. As they appear on Minilogue's record sleeves, they merge elements of all different animals together: there is a donkey with a trunk of an elephant or a mouse with the horns of a deer. With "Animals - The Movie", Minilogue's visual world comes fully into existence. The 80-minute-long DVD is created by Hinge Design from New Zeeland and a couple of other visuals artists.
