The piano was out of tune. It was the 1980's, somewhere on the road. Almost closing time, we had been singing our songs to the crowd all evening, and felt like just playing something for ourselves. The arrangement was not planned or rehearsed, and we don't remember who captured it on a cassette recorder. I think every band has had a similar experience. The crowd that evening was there mostly for our country songs, but when Misty started to play this piano ballad they loved it. Never underestimate the country audience. I was playing bass and vibes on my little Yamaha keyboard, Misty was at the piano, and we had a drummer playing brushes. Misty's first love has always been the piano, but on our recordings she's usually playing something in the background. We don't have any studio recordings of her playing piano, so when we found this old tape I wanted to have our friends hear it. The recording quality its that of a thirty year old cassette tape, but that's alright because it sounds like what it is... a music moment frozen in time.
