Dr. Rhomboid Goatcabin - Excerpt from "The Weathered Dresser" II

Another videoclip from the 5-2-2009 Art-o-matic performance taken by Kyle. At this point we find the piece building toward its finale--a crescendo of violent energy as a concrete trowel rocks the dresser's surface. Unfortunately the camera ran out of storage space, leaving this clip teasingly short in length, but it is all that mein humble goats have to offer.

Excerpt from "The Weathered Dresser"

This is a brief clip taken from Dr. Rhomboid Goatcabin's fifth solo public performance on 5-2-2009 at the Art-o-matic 419 event. The piece, entitled "The Weathered Dresser", was played entirely on and/or through an old dresser with the help of a myriad of implements, including: knives, a hamster wheel, electric hedge-clippers, a clarinet, a ski, a Tibetan singing bowl, saws, hammers, a keg, a broken piece of the gate from out back by the dumpster at the Chipotle I work at, ceramic shards, a concrete trowel, ratchets, a taxidermied Muskie and more. I originally met the dresser through my best friend, who over twenty years ago introduced me to the piece of furniture one day after kindergarten. It ended up in the backyard of another friend years later, originally destined to be firewood, and remained outside in the elements for over a year acting as a sort of makeshift outdoor bar. The dresser was in pretty bad shape at this point and the drawers it had left would not even open. The dresser was then hauled to my garage, reinforced, mic'd, experimented upon, and ultimately used as the centerpiece in this performance. The dresser finally met its inevitable end in the performance's finale, as it was reduced to a pile of rubble by an extremely sharp axe. Turns out the dresser's drawers were filled with old pizza boxes, some still containing year-old petrified pizza. Life is just full of surprises.
